12 weeks post myomectomy

I honestly never knew I would ever reach this far into healing post surgery. I was so fixated on the experience I got in the hospital pre theatre, during and post theatre. Now none of those thing matter anymore because life went back to normal and I am healed but I keep feeling guilty for forgetting such an experience yet it was a big part of my life.

At 12 weeks post op, my menses went back to a perfect normal. I now have a three day period and my period flow reduced by about 80%. I am more productive on my second day of my period and my quality of life improved by far.

I am now questioning my whole menstrual health because I cant remember the last time I was this productive. My menstrual problem seem to have started way before I thought it did.

My scar is now more like a scar and less like an incision. I can now jump, run and move around more. Now I feel like my dreams are valid, like I can go after what I want without constantly thinking about excessive bleeding, seven to ten days of bleeding, low ion levels and the fatigue that usually comes with all the anxiety on planning the logistics around being on your periods.

That was sick!

12 weeks post op screams freedom at last. It screams I suffered but I'm now free

My heart goes out to every woman who is struggling with the pain and discomfort of having fibroids. May you find healing and may you find the resources that you need to be healed.

Here are the  symptoms that I had that let to the fibroid diagnosis which are not normal at all. Please don't normalise them.

1. Painful periods that needs special painkillers because normal painkillers don't kill the pain.🚩

2. Excessive bleeding. Changing pads in an hour and using maternity pads is a red flag!🚩

3. Blood clots. Big blood clots and passing out many of them is a BIG red flag.🚩

4. Prolonged periods. Anything more than 5 days is not normal or maybe more than 6days? 🚩

All this bleeding can cause severe anaemia like my case. I got admitted with a low PB of 4.5 which almost took me to the lord.

Fibroids can also be asymptomatic, something that I recently learned. To be safe, while doing your yearly check up, do a pelvic scan to rule out these menstrual related complications.

With that, I am so grateful to be here today and to be supper healthy. My partner says I am now Gods favourite because what do you mean a 3 day period? No cramp no excessive bleeding?

I am indeed God's favourite and I am forever grateful.

🌸❤️
